About Best Robot Match

Best Robot Match is an independent robot comparison and decision platform, and the robotics member of the BestMatch Group — a family of free comparison engines for complicated purchases (VPN, VPS, hosting, AI models, and now robots).

Why this site exists

Consumer robotics is exploding — companion robots, robot dogs, humanoids, and ever-smarter vacuums and mowers. But the buying information is dreadful: unboxing hype, spec-sheet marketing, and reviews that never ask the questions that matter after month one. Nobody tells you what the parts cost, whether anyone will fix it, or what happens when the manufacturer's servers go dark.

That last one isn't hypothetical. Anki's Vector, Jibo, and Embodied's Moxie all left owners with expensive paperweights when their makers folded. We built the server-shutdown risk rating so it never surprises a reader of this site.

The editorial model

• Scores are editorial, built from public, verifiable data — manufacturer specs, warranty documents, parts pricing, SDK documentation, and public reliability reporting.
• We do not claim first-person lab testing.
• Rankings cannot be bought. No paid placement, ever.
• No affiliate programs are currently active; all links go to official manufacturer sites. If that changes, it will be disclosed prominently and will not affect scores.
• Scoring weights are versioned and locked — changes are logged on the ethics page.

Maintenance

Best Robot Match is maintained by Carl Boon as part of the BestMatch Group. Data is re-verified periodically; the "data verified" date in the footer reflects the last full pass. Corrections are welcome — if a spec, price or policy is out of date, use the contact route on the group site and it will be fixed.
